What customers can do in the portal

Once you are logged in to the portal, everything on it is scoped to your own records. You will never see another customer's payments, methods or subscriptions, and nothing you do here reaches anyone else's account.

Available actions

  • View your saved payment methods. See every card or bank account you have on file, reorder which one is tried first, and deactivate, reactivate or delete one.
  • Register a new payment method. Add a card or bank account for future use. Depending on how the gateway is set up, you either enter details on ChargeOn's own form, or inside the gateway's own secure embedded form — either way, you are not charged anything by registering.
  • Make a payment. Charge one of your saved payment methods, or open and pay a specific payment link you were sent.
  • View your subscriptions. See a list of your recurring payments and instalment plans, and open one for detail.
  • Check a subscription's standing. See whether it has an overdue amount that is due to be retried automatically.
  • Change a subscription's payment method. Point a subscription at a different saved payment method for its next charge — not available on every subscription; see below.
  • View your transaction history. See your past payments, in whatever detail your organisation has chosen to show.

What customers cannot do

  • See or act on anyone else's payments, methods or subscriptions. Everything here is scoped to your own record, and there is no way to look up or affect another customer's account.
  • Change the payment method on every subscription. A subscription running on a gateway that uses its own secure checkout page holds the payment method on the gateway's side, not ChargeOn's — so there is nothing here to change it to. If you need to update payment details for one of these, contact your organisation directly.
  • Pay with a gateway your organisation has not made available in the portal. Only some gateways are offered here; if the one you expect is missing, that is a choice your organisation made, not something you can turn on yourself.
